The console

The console is where a workspace is seen and governed. Its places are on the rail at the left; on a phone they are on the bar at the bottom.

  • A place fills the middle: a list, a table or a grid of the things it holds.
  • The inspector opens at the right when you select a thing in a place. At 1100 pixels and wider it stays docked and its edge drags to resize it (a double-click puts it back); narrower, it slides over the place and closes with Escape or its close button.
  • A control that cannot work is never hidden: it is dimmed, and hovering or focusing it says why.

Keys, anywhere outside a text field:

  • 1 to 9 go to the place at that position on the rail.
  • ? opens this Help.
  • Escape closes a dialog, a menu or the inspector.

Theme, at the foot of the rail (in More, the bar's last item, on a phone), picks Onyx (the default), Dracula, Nord, Light, or System, which follows your device between Onyx and Light. The choice is kept in this browser.
